The Stage
There is nothing quite like performing on the stage. The rush of energy as the curtain speech plays through the monitors, the pre-show rituals that ensure you have a good show, the phantom pee and poop that reveal their imaginary selves right as the curtain rises, the silence that overtakes the audience as the last member adjusts in their seat, the lights go down, and you’re on. There’s no do-over, no second chance. What the audience sees and hears is what they get. It’s all on the line, with every single line. It’s theatre.
Darlin Cory: A World Premiere Musical at the Alliance Theatre
There is nothing quite like performing on the stage. There is nothing quite like performing on the Tony Award-Winning Alliance stage. There is nothing quite like performing a brand new musical on the Alliance stage as the titular role and creating your character from scratch. Every step, every word, it’s entirely novel and the purest form of artistic collaboration.
